Some reviews are probably best done by my kids. This is one of them. We love to shop at Aldi and they have their own great line of gluten free products called “Live Gfree”. The only bad thing about Aldi’s gluten free line is that they do not carry all of the products year round. Some are seasonal and only there for a month or two.
This week I noticed these Live Gfree Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Granola Bars. I knew they wouldn’t around long, but I wanted to snag them so the kids could give them a try! If I remember correctly they were about $2.89 a box. That is comparable to some brands of non- gluten free granola bars.
I bought these to be a treat. The ingredient list is enough to scare me off from buying these all the time. They have a lot of sugar! Well, it says 9g per bar. That is 1/5 the daily recommended amount for an adult, and these bars are not that big. Not that my kids minded that one bit! They loved these! So much that they asked me to get another box. I think these would be perfect for those times when you need a special treat to send to school, or an occasional snack.
Here is the official nutritional panel from the side. I did notice that Aldi had a couple varieties of these. You want to be diligent and read the labels if you are also avoiding milk. Some of these varieties contain milk. I am not sure how long Aldi will be carrying these but they are a yummy fun snack option for the kids.
