I was lucky and I found this Pillsbury Gluten Free Cookie Dough at Target the other day. So far Publix has not carried it. I had a coupon from a Facebook promotion so I actually snagged this for FREE (was a little over $4). I have learned with gluten free products just because it sounds good doesn’t necessarily mean it is going to turn out that way.
Last night I pulled out the tub of cookie dough and scooped it onto a cookie sheet. The dough looks like any other store bought cookie dough. It is not premeasured so you could use this for many things! I am already thinking about making cookie cups and more. I scooped the dough onto the cookie sheet and into the oven they went. They smelled wonderful, and puffed up just like a normal chocolate chip cookie. After about 11 minutes they were ready. All the kids came running into the kitchen like it was christmas!
Not my best food picture, it was dark in the kitchen. However don’t judge the cookies just because of that. They were wonderful! Chewy, delicious, and not crumbly. There was no weird aftertaste, and if you hadn’t seen the package you wouldn’t know that they were gluten free! SCORE!
I am actually going to purchase this from now on and keep a tub on hand. It is much cheaper than buying Udi’s Coookies from the freezer section, and great to keep for a special treat! Now I am anxious to try the Pilsbury Pizza and pie dough and see if it is just as good!
