When you are learning how to cook gluten free there is a learning curve. Things are definitely different. Here are some of my top Gluten Free Cooking Tips.
- Let Gluten Free baked goods cool before moving from pan. Because they contain no gluten there isn’t much to hold them together. So if they are hot they will crumble.
- You can make most of your favorite baked goods by just substituting a gluten free flour mix and a little bit of xanthum gum. Sometimes it doesn’t work, but if it is a family favorite it is worth the shot.
- You can over cook gluten free pasta, and make it slimy. Make sure you cook it al-dente and you won’t even know it is gluten free.
- Find Gluten Free substitutes. Don’t be afraid to find substitutes for recipes. I am famous for using crushed rice chex instead of bread crumbs, or even crushed tostitos. You have to become resourceful!
